Sun Valley Regional Park

East Ninth Avenue at Sidehill Drive, Sun Valley.

Directions: North on Sun Valley Blvd.; left on Ninth Ave.; right on Sidehill to park entrance.

Sun Valley Community Park

115 West 6th Avenue, Sun Valley Directions to Park: 395 North. Exit #70. North on Clear Acre to Sun Valley Blvd. Park is located on the Northwest corner of Sun Valley Blvd.

If you are interested in renting the Sun Valley Neighborhood Center for special events or meetings or to reserve a park for a event contact Brenda at 674-4411.

Park Amenities Include: Neighborhood Center, Outdoor Basketball Court, Horseshoe Pits, Sand Volleyball Court, Soccer Field, Baseball Field, (2) Picnic Pavilion w/BBQ (non-reservable), Teen Center, BMX Track, Skateboard Park, Outdoor Swimming Pool, Quarter-mile Walking/Jogging Track and an In-line Hockey Rink.

Swimming Pool:(closed for the season) 6-lane, 25 yard, outdoor swimming pool. Operating Season: The pool will be open from 12 noon until 5 p.m. daily Wednesday through Sunday throught the season and will also be providing swim lessons. For more information please call the District office at 775.673.2220. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

Teen Center: The 2200 sq. ft. center is open to all teens ages 13-17. Amenities include: Foos-ball, pool, big screen TV, video games, darts and more! Cost is $15/year and includes a membership to the Boys & Girls Club of the Truckee Meadows. Enjoy cool field trips every week to Sand Harbor, Rocksport, Sparks Marina, Roller Kingdom, Wild Island, Bowling, Movie Theaters and much, much more! Open daily. BMX Track:
Join the American Bicycle Association (ABA) for only $45/year. Scholarships available! The ABA practices on Tues./Thurs., with races every Saturday. For more information, call Track Directors Al and Linda Scott at 762-4846. The ABA operates through December, weather permitting.

Family Resource Center: Hours of operation: Monday-Thursday 9am-4pm. The FRC assists families with unemployment, food, clothing, ESL, GED, lice medication, diapers, formula, how to arrange medical care, writing resumes, day care, senior care etc. PHONE: 674-4411; Director: Alanna Fitzgerald

Head Start Preschool: Traditional school year only. For ages 3-5. Parents must prove financial need to qualify. For application information call 786-6023.

Group Field Use: The Soccer and Baseball fields are available for group use by permit only. To obtain a permit, call Doug Mullens, Recreation Superintendent at 828-6642.

Annual Special Events: Easter Egg Hunt, Teen Dances (February, April, October), Teen Nights at Sun Valley Pool, Not-So-Haunted House (October), Community Garage Sale (September).

Gepford Park

Gepford Parkway, Sun Valley

Located in Sun Valley, the park is at the corner of Gepford Parkway and Leon Drive. The park features three Little League fields, two basketball courts, a covered group picnic shelter (non-reservable), individual picnic sites, a playground area, and open turf areas.
Group parking available.

Highland Ranch Park

This neighborhood park in northeast Sun Valley has access to BLM land for hiking and tremendous views of both the Sierra Nevada mountains and the Spanish Springs Valley. Amenities include a multi-purpose field, children's playground area, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, covered picnic areas (non-reservable), individual picnic sites, and basketball courts.

Play Bingo in Sun Valley
PLAY BINGO

Bingo Games are held at the Sun Valley Landowners/Residents Association at 5360 Sun Valley Blvd. Games are held from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month. Cash Jackpot Blackout Game on the final play. We play 10 games.

Three cards for $3.00 and 50 cents for each additional card. Pick your own prize. Come Join the fun. Must be 21 to play.

FOOD RESOURCES

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada and the Hope Nazarene Church are offering a mobile food pantry every Monday at 2:30 p.m. The church is located at 205 W. Gepford Parkway (Gepfod & Slope). For low income families with children under age six or low income seniors.

MEALS ON WHEELS Adults over 60 yrs. That are homebound may qualify for the Meals on Wheels home delivery program. Or more information call 328-2590

The NNFB also offers a Kids Café (Dinner Program) for all children under the age of 18-years, Monday – Friday from 5:00 to 5:30 pm at Lois Allen Elementary School. The kids do not need to be enrolled at Lois Allen Elementary School. The kids will receive a nutritious meal at no charge.
